Change Log V.13

  • Added Barrel!

Change Log V.12

Change Log V.11

  • The Itch.io page of the project switches to English.
  • Teleporter now functional for both the player and demons.
  • The Super Shotgun will no longer easily kill any demon. However, its vertical bullet spread does not work correctly according to the player’s rotation.
  • The BFG projectile and the rocket launcher projectile now behave as expected!
  • The player may experience knockback when receiving damage from projectiles.
  • The “small” version (the one that opens and closes quickly) of the door has been placed in the area for testing purposes.
  • A “grating” wall that allows seeing through and shooting through has been placed in the area, but a bug causing incorrect display sorting may occur with entities.
  • Added acceleration at the beginning of movement instead of being directly at top speed, making movement a bit smoother.
  • Slight rearrangement of the test map.

Change Log V.10

  • Added teleporter mechanics. However, they are non-functional for the player.
  • Added the Hell Baron!
  • The Doom Guy’s head now moves smoothly. Additionally, the “shock” face displays when taking a high amount of damage and the “happy” face displays when picking up a weapon for the first time.
  • Slight rearrangement of the test map.

Change Log V.9

  • Transition to the New Input System.
  • Added basic control for mobile gameplay.
  • Added Xbox controller support. (Control manual to come)

Change Log V.8.5

  • Light zone system
  • Fixed a bug where monsters could open any door. They can only open regular doors.
  • The ambient fog now takes monsters and certain items into account.
  • The flash effect when picking up an item has been slightly modified to be more discreet.
  • The flash effect when taking damage has been slightly modified to be more discreet.

Change Log V.8

  • Secret mechanic added
  • Added the Demon (Pinky)
  • Fixed a bug where projectiles would not pass through open doors
  • Added a debug UI providing information about the number of monsters and secrets in the current level

Change Log V.7

  • Intro scene “Fake PSX” and first draft of menu giving a nostalgic taste!
  • Added the Pistol Zombie and its attack behavior
  • Added the Shotgun Zombie and its attack behavior
  • Added elevator/mechanism mechanics
  • Some enemies can drop an item upon death. Here, Pistol Zombies drop a magazine and Shotgun Zombies drop a shotgun.
  • The chainsaw no longer gives painless massages to monsters.

  • Updated player UI to match the PSX version
  • Resolution adjustment to match the PSX version
  • Added sprites and animations for all weapons, except the Super Shotgun

Change Log POST-V.5

  • We have functional collectible objects.
  • We have all the weapons, although not all of them are functional yet (the BFG and the rocket launcher do not yet behave as expected) or do not yet have their animation / graphics drawn from the original game.
  • We have Imps and Cacodemons that can move, detect the player (only by proximity for now), attack in melee and at a distance. If two different demon species accidentally inflict damage on each other, they will fight each other as in the original game.
  • We have damage and death management for entities and the player.
