In Go To Bed!, you can find objects scattered around the level. Here’s what they look like: This donut looks like it’s been summoned from the underworld…

When you pass over it, you unlock it. In fact, it doesn’t apply any effects when you get it, at least not yet!

At the moment of your death (although we don’t wish it on you, but there’s a good chance it will happen) you’ll return to the kitchen. If you explore the kitchen again, you’ll be able to find the item you’ve managed to unlock! Like this, for my donuts :

As you approach, you’ll be able to interact with it. The object will tell you its effect, which will be applied to your next attempt if you decide to use it.

Remember: You only need to unlock the item once, then you can find it and use it (or not, that’s your choice) for as many attempts as you like.

Remember again: Don’t forget to use the item again on each failed attempt if you want to retain its effect from one attempt to the next.
